Joseph H. Chaplin, 57, Juniata, died Saturday morning, July 23, 2016, at UPMC-Altoona. He was born April 27, 1959, in Altoona, a son of the late Joseph Leroy and Velma Jean (Height) Chaplin and married Dena K. Burkholder.
Surviving is his wife, one daughter, Maura Weaver (Chris), of Altoona, three grandchildren, Kylee, A.J., and Melissa, and three brothers, Ronald Leach (Mona), Thomas Chaplin (Kelly) and Gerald Chaplin (Tracey). He was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy and Vicki.
Joe was a graduate of Altoona High School, class of 1977 then joined the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Sears where he worked in sales. He enjoyed all sports, especially the Pittsburgh teams and loved to play softball and go fishing.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11am, Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Hillside Community Church, 520 N. 6th Avenue, Juniata, where a memorial service will be held at 11a.m., Tuesday, with Rev. Kenneth Beichler, officiating.
