Heather L. Mighells, 36, Altoona, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday at Manor Care Nursing Home, Pittsburgh.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Steven and Joni (Davis) Mighells.
She is survived by her parents of Altoona; two sisters: Stephanie McGinnis (Jason) of Altoona and Ashley Watt (Adam) of Altoona; two nephews: Braeson and Eli McGinnis whom she loved with all of her heart; maternal grandmother, Lucille Davis of Altoona; paternal grandparents, Leslie and Patricia Shaffer of Altoona; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James Davis and her paternal grandfather, Victor Mighells.
Heather was a veteran of the United States Air Force. She was stationed in Eglin Air Force Base and served one tour in Turkey.
She was a 1997 graduate of Altoona Area High School and a member of the 1996 Altoona Lady Lion State Championship basketball team. She most enjoyed spending time with her nephews. She was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Florida Gators, and loved sports.
She loved animals, especially her cats and her dog Cody. She enjoyed being with family and friends, camping, drawing, and helping others.
Friends will be received Friday, August 5, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, 16601 and Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Pleasant Valley Assembly of God in the old sanctuary, 801 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, 16602. Pastor James Balzano officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
