Ralph “Bud” Edward Quarry, 76, Tyrone, passed away late Monday evening at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Ralph Elmer and Betty Louise (Patton) Quarry. He married Constance “Connie” Shope on April 13, 1963 in Bellwood. She preceded him in death on December 10, 1988.
He is survived by a daughter, Robin and fiancé David Shields of Altoona; a sister, Gloria Quarry of Bellwood; two nephews: Ryan and Trevor; and a special friend, Charles Benedetto. He was also survived by four sister-in-law’s: Linda Becker and Cindy Nicodemus of Altoona, Cheryl Butler of VA, and Marjorie and husband James Westwood of Ephrata and also David Shields, Jr. and wife Nichole and several nieces and nephews.
Bud served in the United States Army and retired from Penn Dot as an equipment operator. He enjoyed spending time at his hunting camp and supporting the Bellwood Antis football team. He was an avid black bear collector.
Friends will be received from noon until the 3 p.m. funeral service Friday, August 12, 2016 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, 16602. Chaplain Tony Conrad officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park Cemetery.
