Thomas V. Morris, 96, Belleville, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Earl Alfonzo and Naomi (Gunsalles) Morris. He was twice married. He was first married to Florence Dougal, she preceded him in death on October 9, 1987. He then married Shirley L. Carter on March 30, 1996 in Altoona.
He is survived by his wife Shirley.
Tom was a 1939 graduate of Altoona High School and retired in 1980 from Conrail as an electrician after 41 years of service.
He was a veteran of WWII in the United States Army Air Corps as a Tech Sergeant. He was a specialist in dog training and handling.
He was a member of the Hiram Lodge F & AM, Civic Association of McAlevey’s Fort, and the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. Along with Shirley, he was a member of the 4 ½ Mile Hunting Camp at Warriors Mark.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at the Valley View Retirement Community, 4702 East Main Street, Belleville, PA 17004. Chaplain Gerald Peachey officiating. Interment at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
