Damian Alynn Gingerich

Damian Alynn Gingerich, 34, Oakland Park, Fla., formerly of Altoona, passed away Wednesday at his residence.

He was born in Altoona, son of Stewart Sr. and Connie (Hileman) Gingerich.

Surviving are his parents of Altoona; a daughter, Joselynn Gingerich of Altoona; three brothers: Stewart Jr., Rodney and Michael; two sisters: Lorie Friedenberger (Steve) and Lisa Shellenburger (Scott); a special aunt, Bonnie Johnson, of Altoona; and three uncles.

Damian was a 2000 graduate of Altoona Area High School, and he worked as a laborer in construction. He loved snowboarding and ice hockey, enjoyed fishing and swimming, and he attended Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service, Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, Pastor James Balzano officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
