Goldie R. Franks, 95, Altoona, died Saturday morning at the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Dorthea (Myers) Weierick. She married Martin L. Franks in May of 1940, in Cumberland, MD. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1985.
She is survived by a daughter, Vickie Knotts (Michael), of Altoona; a son, Martin L., Jr. (Marie), of Altoona; three grandsons: Richard Gray and Matthew and Mark Franks; one granddaughter, Meghan Gabrielson; five great grandchildren: Harper, Keegan, Cameron, and Adam Franks and Ander Gabrielson; and a sister, Leona Wallace.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Colton and seven siblings: Myrtle, Hazel, Verna, George, Ralph, Ernest, and Ed.
Goldie, a homemaker, graduated from Wellsboro High School. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included quilting, painting and was an avid reader.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 and Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., Juniata. Rev. Drew McCaffery officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Twp.
