Karlene Joy Hite, 57, Altoona, is now absent from her body and present with her Lord and Savior.
She was born in Altoona, a daughter of Jack and Linda (John) Neff. On November 20, 1993 she married Robert Scott Hite.
In addition to her husband of 23 years and her parents, she is survived by a step-son, Andrew Hite and wife Stephanie of Altoona; three granddaughters: Makayla, Makale, and Alyssa; one grandson, Adam and three great grandchildren; three brothers: David Neff of Hollidaysburg, Matt Neff and wife Tricia of Ashburg, VA, and Dan Neff of Hollidaysburg; a sister, Lew Ann Knouse and husband Dwight of Altoona; six nieces; a great niece and nephew; and many wonderful close friends.
Karlene was a Christian wife and lived a very spiritual life. She attended both Calvary Baptist Church and Grace Bible Church. She worked as a preschool assistant for Calvary Baptist Church.
She was a member of Lakemont Lions Club and the Blair County Association of the Blind. She enjoyed sign language and read braille. She enjoyed playing the piano and was an artist and painter.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Grace Bible Church, 164 Laurel Lane, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Friday, December 23 at the church, with Pastor Daren Ritchey officiating.
