Donald L. Winstead, 89, Juniata, died Friday, January 6, 2017, at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care.
He was born in Porter Twp, Huntingdon County, a son of the late Leon and Edith (Bishop) Winstead.
He is survived by his wife of more than 59 years, Joanne Yvonne (Henry) Winstead.
He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked in manufacturing after his discharge from the Army. Then he attended Lycoming College in Williamsport for four years earning his A.B. Degree, in 1952. He was called to the Christian Ministry and attended Drew Theological Seminary for four years earning his B.D. Degree in 1956.
He served United Methodist Churches in the Central PA Conference of the United Methodist Church for 36. Locally he served Broad Avenue United Methodist Church, Duncansville United Methodist Church and 15th Street United Methodist Church in Huntingdon, retiring in 1990.
Private services were held at the Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., Juniata, with Rev. Charles Baughman, officiating. Interment was made at Alto Reste Park Cemetery.
