Dean E. Williams, 85, Altoona, passed away early Thursday morning at his home.
He was born in Bellwood, a son of the late Paul and Edna (Root) Williams. On April 2, 1966, he married Janet Cassidy in Altoona.
Dean is survived by his wife of 50 years; a daughter, Sue Williams (Todd Bookhamer) of Bellwood; two granddaughters: Heather and Lisa Long; great grandchildren: Corbin, Jonathon, Marina, Emily, Chance, William, and Lucas Dean; a brother, Richard of Altoona; two sisters: Sonya Walter of Bellwood and Deborah Farber of Hollidaysburg; a niece, Janet Mowery (Brian) of Altoona; a great nephew, Ty Mowery; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Buchanan.
Dean was a 1950 graduate of Bellwood High School. He retired from W.S. Lee & Sons as a sales manager and worked alongside his wife at D&J Janitorial Services.
He was a member of the Jaffa Motor Corps and a lifetime member of the Juniata VFW Fort Apache. He served in the United States Navy.
He enjoyed Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers football.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Monday, January 23, 2017 with Pastor Brian Sandell officiating. Entombment at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
