Jacqueline Irene “Jackie” Walker, 95, Allegheny Lutheran Home, formerly of Altoona and Point Marion, PA, passed away Monday.
She was born in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Russell and Julia (Hall) Reed. She was married to her husband, Harry C. Walker for 47 years. He preceded her in death in April of 1995.
Surviving is a daughter, Cheryll A. Schomber and her husband John of Coatesville, PA; two grandchildren: Ryan (Jen) and Kara Schrank (Ryan), both of Lafayette Hill, PA; and three great grandchildren: Mark Schomber and Nathan and Aaron Schrank.
Jackie grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from Mount Lebanon High School and Duffs Business College. She attained a CPS Degree, Certified Public Secretary. She retired as an office manager from the Admissions Office of West Virginia University, Morgantown, W. VA.
Jackie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who spent much time volunteering in the communities where she lived. She and her husband Harry, a school principal, were Paul Harris Rotary Fellows. She volunteered at the Altoona Regional Health System for 9 years. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, cooking, and traveling.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Private family services were held.
