Howard Vaughn Fleck

December 7, 1933 — February 22, 2017

   Howard Vaughn Fleck, 83, of Three Springs, PA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at his home.
   He was born December 7, 1933, in Orbisonia, the son of the late Dallas and Leora (Wagner) Fleck.  He was united in marriage to Beverly L. (Long) Fleck on April 25, 1959, at the Grace EUB Church in Three Springs and they were happily married for over 57 years.
   Vaughn is survived by two sons, Rodney B. Fleck and wife Patty of Mount Union and Joey A. Fleck and wife Traci of Three Springs, a granddaughter Amanda Shore of Three Springs; three step-grandchildren George Norris, Jr and wife Fawn, Christina Thomas and husband David and Jessica Hockenberry and husband Zebadiah and eight great-grandchildren, Katlin, Brett, Dawson, Devin, Zane, Evan, Aislyn and Callie.  He is also survived by three brothers, Lewis Fleck, Dale Fleck and Lee Fleck and three sisters, Wanda Lane, Virginis Fleck and Nancy McMahon.
   Vaughn was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter Karee Ann Shore, two brothers, Robert Fleck, Donny Fleck and three sisters Betty Marzano, Jane Bennett and Naomi Phalen.
   He graduated from the Saltillo Joint High School in May of 1953, and then completed a carpenter heavy construction course, an electric arc welding course, and a mobile engine service maintenance course.  Vaughn also served our country in the United States Army in the 78th Engineer Regiment and was Honorable Discharged in September 1962.
   He worked for the Milton Hershey School, drove truck, and was an equipment operator for a number of years.  He also worked th the Letterkenny Army Depot where he retired with 25 years of service.  He was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors and loved spending time with friends and family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.    He was a member of the Grace UMC in Three Springs and in his lifetime has been a very active member.  Officiating the service will be Rev. Rachel Horst, Pastor Faith Anderson, and Vaughn's son Rev. Joey Fleck.  Friends and family are invited to gather from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., with a Memorial Service to begin at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Grace UMC.  Following the service there will be a meal at the Three Springs Volunteer Fire Company provided by the Three Springs United Methodist Parish.  Interment will be made at the Three Springs Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Huntingdon American Legion Honor Guard and the Huntingdon Legion Color Guard.
