Dolores R. Black Weber, 95, The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Juniata, died Saturday morning at the home.
She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late J. “Herb” and Helen Ruth (Wolfe) Hostler. She was married to Wilford L. Black, the father of her children, from 1946 until his death in 1976. She married Donald C. Weber on September 9, 1978. He died on February 4, 1996.
Doris is survived by her children: David L. Black (Deborah), Altoona, Gail S. Lykens (Daniel), Williamsburg, Cynthia Krug (Daniel), Deltona, FL; a stepson, William Weber, Westland, MI; grandchildren: JoAnn Schadenfroh, Kirk Black (Melinda), Eric Black (Jody), Adam Black (Christi), Shon Lykens (Melissa), and Jason Lykens (Krystal); a step-grandson, Douglas Weber (Kim); great grandchildren: Sara, Emily, Graham, Kade, Jace, Matthew, Lilah, Finn, Cora, and Aspen; step-grandchildren: Andrew, Addison, Cambree, Jillian, and Zoe; and a brother Herbert Hostler, Jr., (Mary Jane) of Slidell, LA.
Dolores was a member of Juniata Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Altoona High School, Class of 1939 and then attended secretarial school. Dolores retired from the Altoona Area Public Library as a secretary. She always had a kind word for everybody and loved reading her Bible. Her interests included walking and swimming and she enjoyed being a homemaker.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 and from 10 until 11 a.m. funeral service on Friday, April 21, 2017, at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., Juniata. Pastor Janet Kephart officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
