Hilda M. Heacox

Hilda M. Heacox, 95, Altoona, passed away early Sunday morning at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Hilda was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Harry and Alice (Housum) Gearhart. On September 19, 1942, she married Harry H. Heacox in Altoona. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2007.
Hilda is survived by a son, Thomas Lee of Richmond, VA; two daughters: Bonnie K. Etters and husband Dennis and Linda M. Hubert and husband Michael, both of Altoona; 8 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.
Hilda was a 1939 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a homemaker and a member of the Faith United Church of Christ and Blair Senior Citizens. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading, working on crossword puzzles, and sitting on her porch and watching the birds.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Faith United Church of Christ, 711 7th Avenue, Altoona, 16602. Pastor John L. Emig officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park Cemetery, Antis Township.
