James P. Pence, 80, of Altoona, passed away early Thursday morning.
He was born in Lebanon, PA, a son of the late James P. and Cecilia (Slimkowski) Pence. On September 16, 1967, he married Bonnie L. Walker, of Altoona, PA.
In addition to his wife of almost 50 years, he is survived by a son, James and wife Jean; a daughter, Laurie Rogers; 7 grandchildren; an aunt, Naomi Campbell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan.
James was a graduate of Lebanon High School. He was employed by Beasley Motor Rebuilders for 23 years, and more recently by Securitas.
He was active in his church over the years and enjoyed football, hunting, and reading.
James served in the United States Air Force.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Altoona Restoration Church of God, 911 N 3rd St, Juniata, Altoona, PA, with Rev. Kim Swindell, officiating.
