Beverly M. Thompson

Beverly M. Thompson, 83, Altoona, passed away Saturday morning at the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late William Earl and Helen O. (Isenberg) McLaughlin. On October 16, 1964, she married David A. Thompson in Altoona. He preceded her in death on December 5, 2004.
She is survived by two sons: David A., Jr. and wife Michelle and Daniel A. and wife Mitzi, both of Altoona; a grandson, David M.; two granddaughters: Emily N. and Summer Rose; and a brother, William E. McLaughlin, Jr.
Beverly was a 1952 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired with 40 years of service from Bell Telephone, where she was an operator. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the church council and was a former Elementary, Sunday School Teacher for over 20 years.
She was a former member of Pleasant Valley Lioness Club and enjoyed sewing, bowling, and doing volunteer work for the hospital, her church, and the Red Cross.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017, Rev. Elizabeth Hess, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 408 N 6th Street, Altoona, PA, 16601.
