Vonda L. Dellape

Vonda Lee Dellape, 77, of Altoona, passed away early Thursday morning at Maybrooke Hills, Altoona. She was born in Dean, daughter of the late Walter and Alverta Judd. She married John Dellape November 22, 1962 in Bellwood, PA.

Vonda was a homemaker. She had previously worked as a secretary at the A&P offices in Altoona, and also preparing hoagies at DelGrosso’s Park. She was a graduate of Cresson High School. She was an active volunteer over the years at Altoona Hospital, the Allegheny Lutheran Senior Living Center, and at Great Commission Schools. She always could be found taking care of others.

She was an organizer; she organized tours of Altoona’s churches with beautiful stained glass, and also helped organize a local newspaper reporting on local church ministry activities. She began the Golden Heirs ministry at Grace Bible Church, where she had been active in ministry over the years. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband John of Altoona; her son Kevin Dellape (Lisa) and her daughter Lori Savage (Jim); 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and her brother Walter Judd, Jr., of Bellwood.

Friends will be received from 10 AM to 12 Noon Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where a funeral service will be held at noon, with Pastor Steward McClelland, officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Backyard Ministries, Inc., 418 26^th Ave, Altoona, Pa, 16601.
