Dennis G. Prough

Dennis G. Prough, 73, Altoona, passed away early Thursday morning at his home.

He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Merrill and Erma (Lukehart) Prough. On July 5, 1968, he married Linda K. Moyer at the Altoona Bible Church in Altoona.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, he is survived by a daughter, Heather Pfister and husband Brandon of Duncansville; two granddaughters: Kelsey Prough of Port Matilda and Brynn Pfister of Duncansville; two sisters: Catharine Heller of Westfield, Indiana and Darlene Wilt and husband Cletus of Duncansville; mother-in-law, Betty McCaulley of Altoona; numerous nieces and nephews; and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by a son, Brian.

Dennis was a graduate of Penn State University and Moody Bible Institute. He retired in September of 2011 after 45 years or service from F.L. Smithe Machine Company.

Dennis was a member of the Altoona Bible Church and Board of Believers Express. He served on the board of Precious Life and was a member of the Bellwood School Board for many years. He enjoyed antiquing, biking, reading, photography, spending time with his family, and served many years in radio and television ministry at ABC.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Altoona Bible Church, 3017 Union Avenue, Altoona, 16602 and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Stewart W. McClelland officiating. Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
