Thomas L. McConnell, 56, Altoona, died Saturday evening at his home.
He was born in Altoona, son of Robert A. and May E. (Temple) McConnell.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara A. (Snyder) McConnell; two daughters: Caitlynn and Shannon; his parents; a sister, Tammy Otto; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Thomas was a graduate of Altoona Area High School. He was an Eagle Scout and attained Vigil Honor in Order of the Arrow. He worked for a number of years for George A Schultz and Son, Altoona and retired as an HVAC mechanic for D.C. Goodman Co., Huntingdon.
Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. He liked to watch football and was a fan of the Steelers, Penn State and Notre Dame. He also enjoyed Pirates and Altoona Curve baseball. In recent years, he liked to hang out in the garage and visit with family and friends.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 6 p.m., Pastor Bill Pepper officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Tom’s memory to Crossroads Adult Services, 2101 5th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.
