Gerald "Jerry" Beiswenger

Gerald (Jerry) Beiswenger, 67, of Altoona, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 17, 2018, at his residence, after a courageous battle with tick paralysis. He passed peacefully with his wife and three daughters by his side. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Clair and Marie Grace (Montler)  Beiswenger. He married Diane Kearns April 24, 1972, in Winchester VA.

Surviving are his wife Diane; three daughters: Kimberly Anne, Jessica Lynn, and Rachael Lea; six siblings: Agnes Kirsch, Mary Reifsteck, and Mark Beiswenger (all of Altoona), Evie Reigh, Joyce Hoffman (both of Bellwood), and Eugene Beiswenger of Illinois, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister Delores.

Jerry was a graduate of Altoona High School and New Castle School of Trade. He attended Buckhorn Bible Church, and was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association—Curve Gospel Riders Chapter, the NARVRE (Railroad Retirement Group), the YMCA. He loved and lived for his Lord, loved music-having played the guitar for years, and enjoyed bowling.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. Interment at Union Cemetery, Cresson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
