Lanny Charles Peterman, 64, Tyrone, passed away Wednesday morning at his home.
He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Harold Leroy and Catherine (Strawmyer) Peterman.
Lanny is survived by three children: Chy Ann Peterman and boyfriend John Worthy of Altoona, Jon R. Peterman and fiancé Vanessa Deyarmin of Lakemont, and Sierra L. Peterman of Altoona; step-son, Chris Veloz; grandchildren: Landyn, Taryn, Bailey, Brooklyn, Gino, Vinny, Skyler, Shayd, and Ameris; brothers: Jim Peterman and wife Lynette of Duncansville and Billy Taddy and fiancé Michelle Bathurst of Altoona; girlfriend, Mary Ann Detwiler of Tyrone; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved Border Collies: Misty and Rocky.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Peterman; a sister, Bonnie Peterman; and mother of his children, Chylene Peterman.
He was a carpenter for G&R Excavating and retired in August of 2017.
Lanny was loved by everyone who met him and had many close friends that will miss him dearly. He enjoyed spending time with his family and having picnics and pig roasts at his home. He enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, hiking, and four wheeling.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona.
