Naomi E. Campbell

September 4, 1919 — April 5, 2018

Naomi E. Campbell, 98, Altoona, went to be with her Lord, Thursday morning at the home of her niece.  She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Charles Edgar Orr and Sarah Edna Day (Knipple) Orr. She married Stanford M. Nelson in  Altoona.  He died in action in Germany during WWII.

Surviving is her niece, Bonnie L. Pence of Altoona and two nephews, Paul D. Walker and his wife Wanda, in New York State and James M. Walker in Altoona as well as 3 great nieces and 5 great nephews and many great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Julia R. Walker and brother, Charles R. Orr.

She retired as a bookkeeper from Beasley Motor Rebuilders in Altoona after 33 years of service.  Naomi was a graduate of Altoona High School.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Altoona where she served as Deaconess, was a longtime member of the choir and served on the mission board.

Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon Monday, April 9, 2018, with Pastor Tyler Pepper, officiating.  Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Twp., Altoona.
