Carolyn R. Mallow, 91, Altoona, formerly of Homers Gap Road, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, at the UPMC, Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Layton A. and Vera P. (Wagner) Clugh. She married Harold R. Mallow on June 17, 1949 in Altoona. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2009.
Carolyn is survived by three sons: John F. and wife Debbie, James C., and Jay C. and wife Karen, all of Altoona; six grandchildren: Nicole Ubrig (Steven), Jennifer Larrimore (Michael), Megan Burchfield (James), Amber Besson (Matt), Shawn Jarrett (Sue), Nicole Rucker; and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Raymond and Thomas.
Carolyn was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School and attended Linden Hall Community College.
She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church and was a homemaker.
Carolyn was a member of the Altoona Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Joble Court and White Shrine, Daughters of the Nile. She was also a Judge of Elections for 45 years at the Grandview Fire Hall.
A memorial service will be held at 6 PM Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Providence Presbyterian Church. Interment at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hosptials for Children.
