Chad J. Anderson, 41, Orbisonia, died Tuesday at his home. He was born in Altoona, son of Barry Anderson and Barbara (Shaffer) Newberry.
Surviving are his father Barry Anderson (Kathy), his mother Barbara Newberry (Darren), one brother Robby Anderson (Christine), step sister Julie Tyler (Randy), step brother Corey Elden (Jennifer); 5 nieces: Riley and Kailyn Anderson, Emily and Madison Elden, and Katie Tyler; and his grandfather Leslie Shaffer (Patricia). He was preceded in death by 2 grandmothers and 1 grandfather.
Chad was an Altoona High School graduate. He worked as a white water rafting guide in Tennessee, and very much loved being outdoors. He enjoyed white water rafting, camping, fishing, swimming—having been a state swim champion in his youth; and also enjoyed baseball, and especially his dogs.
Friends will be received from 9AM until the 11 AM funeral service Saturday, April 28, 2018, at First Church of Christ, Altoona, with Pastor John Collins, officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Central PA Humane Society.
