Susan L. Miller, 70, Altoona, passed away Saturday morning at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was a former resident of Juniata Gap, the sixth generation of her family to live there; and had lived at both the 11th Street Towers and in Madison Heights, VA.
She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Kenneth L. and Audrey V. (Emes) Miller.
Sue is survived by four brothers: Charles L. Miller and wife Rhonda of Altoona, Milton M. Miller and wife Cindy of Hollidaysburg, Andrew M. Miller and wife Janice of Altoona, and David A. Miller and wife Susan of Altoona; six nieces; three nephews; 17 great nieces and great nephews; and four great-great nephews. She is also survived by two close friends: Diane Johannides and Dena Hartman.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Warren J. Miller.
Sue graduated from Altoona High School, The Pennsylvania State University, and Amherst County Bible Institute. She formerly worked for the Day Care Services of Blair County as an Associate School Age teacher and also formerly worked at Penn State Altoona in the Adult Center and tutored students while at the university. She had worked for The Colony Shop for 21 years and had been a 4-H teacher. She was of the Baptist faith.
She had served as Vice President and President of Residents Council at Maybrook Hills, as well as serving on several residents’ committees.
At the request of the deceased, no public services will be held. Interment will be made at Alto Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.
