John E. “Spyder” Gray Jr, 66, of Altoona, passed away Saturday morning at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late John E. Sr, and Hannah E. (Erickson) Gray.
Surviving are his wife Debra (Phillips) of 40 years; 3 children: Betty Jo, Yvanne, and Jason; 4 grandchildren: Jami, Andrew, Anthony, and Tristan; 2 brothers: Thomas (Peggy) and Walter (Julie); 3 sisters: Betty Troutman (George), Donna Gray, and Cheryl Stewart (Dennis); aunts, uncles, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Donald and Rodney.
John had worked at Conrail, and retired as a pipefitter from the Everett Railroad Company after 20 years of service. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Congregation, Altoona, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and bowling, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Friends will be received from the 10:00 AM to the 11:00 AM memorial service Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
