Charles R. McMaster, 96, Altoona, passed away Tuesday afternoon at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Charles and Ester McMaster. He first married Cecile M. Woodcock. She preceded him in death on February 11, 1986. He then married Barbara Ann Marcinko. She preceded him death on May 6, 2018.
He is survived by a son, Bill McMaster and wife Mary of Altoona; a daughter, Marianne Iacovella and husband, Michael, of Altoona; six grandchildren: Dawn Marie McMaster, Chris Marlett, Ivanna Iacovella, Susie Horton, Tammy Stine, and Dorothy Sloter; 11 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Burton; three brothers: Sheldon, Melvin, and Bobby McMaster; a sister-in-law, Dorothy McMaster; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Arlene Snezek; an infant son; and six siblings: Donald, Sunny, Joe, Nioma, Essie, and Alberta.
Charles attended St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church. He retired from the City of Altoona.
He enjoyed dancing, hunting and fishing.
Friends will be received from 3 until the 4 p.m. funeral service on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, 16601. Reverend Scott Custead officiating. Interment will be made at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gallitzin.
