Scott A. Orner, 58, Altoona, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior at UPMC Altoona on Wednesday.
He was born in Altoona, a son of David W. and Joan C. (Hamler) Orner.
He is survived by his mother, Joan; a brother, Gary D.; and sister-in-law, Melissa, all of Altoona, who were extremely close and loved him very much.
He was preceded in death by his father, David.
Scott was a 1978 graduate of Altoona Area High School and a 1981 graduate of Penn State University where he earned his bachelor degree in electrical engineering.
Scott started working at Blair Honda as a bicycle mechanic. He then worked at Sikorsky Aircraft Company, located in Connecticut, followed by HRB and C-Core in State College, PA.
He enjoyed bicycling, fishing, gardening, building computers, and Saturday yard sales with his Uncle Carl Ehgartner and mother.
Scott attended Calvary Baptist Church and appreciated the visits from the assistant pastor Larry Weaver.
The family would like to thank Dr. Keating for all his help and friendship during his fight with cancer, also his Uncle Bobby (Dr. Wertz) for all of his wisdom and guidance.
At Scott’s request, there will be no visitation or service.
