Joseph E. Petrusky, 94, Altoona, passed away Friday morning at Maybrook Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Brisbin, PA, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Blasko) Petrusky. On May 20, 1966, he married Thelma Moore in Arlington, VA.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Thelma; two daughters: Anita Petrusky of Altoona and Loraine Miller and husband Scott of White Lake, MI; three granddaughters: Jacqueline McConnell and Samantha and Tristin Miller; and a grandson, Justin Miller.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary McConnell; two brothers: George Mura and Bernard Petrusky; and four sisters: Helen Pugsley, Loretta Wivorkoski, Elizabeth Fisher, and Wilmina Zimmerman.
Joseph graduated from Houtzdale High School.
He served during WWII in the U.S. Army. He occupied Japan and served in the South Pacific Islands where he earned an Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with a Bronze Star. He was a member of the Houtzdale American Legion and the Summit Country Club and enjoyed golfing.
At the request of the deceased, no public services will be held. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
