William James Sauserman, 79, Altoona, died Wednesday evening at Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg after an extended illness.
He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Fred B. and Alma M. (Finnegan) Sauserman. On July 8, 1963 he married Donna Grace Weyandt in Winchester, Va. She preceded him in death on October 18, 2006.
Surviving are his sons: William A. and Michael R. of Hollidaysburg; three grandchildren: Nathan, Olivia and Jack Sauserman: two step-grandchildren: Jacob and wife Breyhel Bickley and Joshua Bickley and daughter Norah; a brother, Karl Sauserman and wife Bonnie of Altoona; a sister Betty (Sauserman) Beigle and husband Tom of Dillsburg; a brother-in-law, Melvin Weyandt; a sister-in-law, Marie (Weyandt) Laich of Altoona; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years; a brother, Ronald Finnegan; and a special Aunt to him, Irene J. Sauserman.
Bill served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Muliphen. He was a 1957 graduate of Altoona Area High School and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed talking with friends, taking walks and watching sporting events.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Juniata with the Pastor Elizabeth Hess officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
