Eleanor M. Laughlin, 85, Altoona, was promoted to Glory Wednesday afternoon at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Alfred and Hazel (Benett) Lysinger.
She is survived by a brother, Ronald Lysinger and wife Christine; sisters-in-law: Mary Lysinger, Donna Lysinger, and Patricia Lysinger; a brother-in-law, David Brown; and many other family members including nieces and nephews of many generations, in-laws, and friends. Eleanor had no children of her own, but loved children and cared for many of her family’s children as if they were her own.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Warren Laughlin and by five brothers and five sisters.
Eleanor was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army and served as a local officer in her younger years.
Friends will be received from 10 until the noon funeral service on Friday, August 17, 2018 at the Altoona Salvation Army Corp Community Center under the direction of Lt. and Mrs. Larry Fulmer. Interment will be made at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army in her memory.
