Thomas D. Lutton, 70, Altoona, went to be with the Lord Friday morning at his home. He was born on September 12, 1947, in Lilly, PA, a son of the late Clyde Lutton, Sr. and Veronica (Sibis) Lutton. He married Suzanne Gearhart on September 25, 1971, in Altoona.
Surviving are his wife, Suzanne, of more than 46 years, one son, Jeff and his wife Beth of Williamsburg, PA, one daughter, Missy Davis and husband Jason of Altoona, two grandchildren, Calsie Lutton and Paige Davis, three brothers, Clyde (Peggy) Lutton, Jr., Dave (Elva) Lutton, Jimmy (MaryJo) Lutton, four sisters, Sophie Vocco, Dolores (Alan) Capriotti, Nancy (Rich) Sivec and Linda (Ronnie) Sweeney and brother in law, Fred Carney. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Carney.
He retired as a carman for Norfolk Southern Railroad where he also was the Union President. He was a member of the Transport Workers Union, Local 2017.
He was a graduate of Cresson High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He enjoyed the outdoors, walking, fishing and hunting and especially enjoyed his hunting dog, Mia. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
At the request of the family, there will be no viewing.
A memorial service will be held at 10am Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at New Hope Baptist Church, 276 Maple Hollow Road, Duncansville, PA 16635, with Pastor Matthew Smart, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 1645 W 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
