Calvin E. Utley, 92, also known as Pete, Philadelphia, PA, formerly of Altoona, PA, passed away Thursday morning at the Delaware Valley Veterans Home in Philadelphia, PA.
He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Leslie C. and Amanda (Dodson) Utley.
He is survived by a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Leela Heidler and a brother, Leslie M. Utley.
Calvin was a member of First Brethren Church and the Juniata VFW. He enjoyed working as a handyman, fixing most anything from automobiles, electrical, plumbing works, flash lights, and watches. He also enjoyed watching religious programs on TV and Nascar racing and boxing.
He worked as a car repairman for Penn Central Railroad and retired in 1980 after 33 years of service. He served in the US Army during WWII in Patton’s 3rd Army in Germany.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata. Interment will be made at Greenwood Cemetery, Altoona.
