Merrill G. “Pete” Yeager, Jr., 75, Duncansville, passed away Tuesday afternoon at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Merrill G., Sr., and Pauline (Harshbarger) Yeager. On February 8, 1964, he married Sally Snyder. In addition to his wife of 54 years, he is survived by two daughters: Susan Baker and husband George and their children: Alex and Trevor and Amy Banks and husband Randy and their children: Christopher and David; a brother, Harry Yeager and wife Louise; a sister-in-law, Dianne Sommer and husband John; a brother-in-law, Sheldon Kauffman; and many nieces and nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Kauffman. Pete worked for Fiore Motors (Pontiac) as a General Manager for 53 years. He was a member of the AACA, Antique Auto Club of America. He loved spending time with his family and loved restoring antique cars. He received recognition nationally for his restoration work. He was also an avid fan of sprint car racing. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018 and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 20 with the Reverend Elizabeth Hess officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pete’s honor to the American Lung Association, 3000 Kelly Lane, Springfield, Illinois 62711.
