Helen L. Leonard, 91, Altoona, passed away Friday at UPMC, Altoona. She was born in Woodbury Township, daughter of the late William and Verna (Estep) Beard. She married Junior David Leonard February 27, 1947 in Williamsburg, PA. He preceded her in death in 1992.

Surviving are her children: Jane Hollern of Altoona, Delores Gabella (Lavern) of Newry, David Leonard of Altoona, Bonnie Miller of Loretto, Kathy Irving of the Poconos, and Trev Leonard (Cheryl) of Colorado; 19 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Tiffany Urias, Dustin Lear, and Jason Gabella, as well as all of her siblings. And her beloved dog Daisy May.

Helen worked in various factories and also as a professional cleaner in residences over the course of her working years. She enjoyed playing bingo, loved her dog “Petey”, enjoyed baking pies and cookies for people, and loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a self-less woman, always giving what she had or the sake of others, whether food, clothing, or even money.

Friends will be received from 12:00 PM until the 2:00 PM funeral service Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. Interment at Oreminea, Cemetery, Huston Township.
