Betty L. Shock, 83, of Maybrook Hills, formerly of Eldorado, passed away early Wednesday morning. She was born in Tyrone, Pa, daughter of the late Kasmir and Mary (Starzeski) Pacanowski. She married James F. Shock on May 28, 1954 in Tyrone. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Surviving are her daughters: Deborah A. Reed (Michael) and Lisa M. Trimm (Jeffrey); 10 grandchildren: granddaughter Jennifer Reed, grandson Michael Reed, Jr., grandsons Carl and Erik Johnson, granddaughter Katie Lutz, grandson Scott Partner, granddaughter Regan Shock, grandsons Ben and Zach Trimm; 10 great-grandchildren; her son in law Carl Johnson, Jr., and 2 sisters Margret Mathias and Mary Ann Sigel.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Victoria L. Johnson, her sons James F. Shock, Jr., and Kenneth Shock, and her grandson Ryan Johnson, five brothers, and two sisters.
Betty attended Bellwood Antis High School, and served for many years as a waitress at the Jaffa Mosque. She enjoyed travelling, and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 6-8 PM Friday, November 2, 2018, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 7 PM. Funeral Mass for Betty will be held at 11 AM Saturday, November 3, at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, with Rev. Timothy Grimme, officiating. Committal at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
