Norma J. Belin, 83, Altoona, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer early Monday morning at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Ernest and Harriet Grace (McMonigal) Wright. On June 17, 1963, she married John F. Belin, Sr. in Winchester, VA.
In addition to her husband of 55 years, she is survived by seven children: Denise Imler (Dana), Shelley Mouzakis (Jim), Barry Wible, Darrin Wible (Karen), Carla Ruscio (Mike), John Belin, Jr., and Doug Belin; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janet Wright of Florida.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Belin; and nine siblings: Ernest, Jr., Pauline, Gladys, Phyllis, Madeline, Eugene, Jess, Don, and Clifford.
Norma was a graduate of Altoona Area High School. She worked as a receptionist for Doctors’ Bowman and Budd, and for Blair Medical Associates.
She attended St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Tyrone. She enjoyed genealogy, cards and her favorite game of Aggravation, her cat and dog: Chester and Coco, and most of all spending time with her family. Known as Ging to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was “our sunshine, our only sunshine.” Mom’s soul was as beautiful as her smile and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service will be held at Noon on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 1105 Cameron Avenue, Tyrone, 16686 with the Fr. Jozef Kovacik officiating. Inurnment will be made at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona, at the convenience of the family.
