William E. Grim

November 21, 1939 — December 22, 2018

William E. Grim, Jr., 79, Altoona, passed away early Saturday morning at Hillview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
 
He was born in Altoona, son of the late William E., Sr. and Virginia R. (Green) Grim.
 
He is survived by two daughters: Catherine Virginia Grim and Helen Darlene Grim; three sisters: Josie Selden, Janet Phillips and husband Steven, and Beatrice Saxion and husband Jack; 11 grandchildren; 13 great children; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; his lifelong companion, Margaret “Peggy” Headley; and two step-children: Teresa Hosler and husband Lew and Thomas Headley and wife Nancy.
 
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn Patrick Grim; a sister, Gertrude Mellot; a brother, John Christian Grim; a step-daughter, Kathy Eckard; and a step-grandson, Ronnie Holt.
 
Bill was a member of Wehnwood United Methodist Church. He retired on September 2, 1992 after 30 years of service from the U.S. Post Office where he worked as a mail carrier.
 
He served in the Army.
 
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona with the Pastor Steven Phillips officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard.  Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
