Janet M. VanAllman, 84, Altoona, passed away Wednesday evening at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona daughter of the late Henry and Violet (Hetrick) McCullouch.
Surviving are her children; her son Kenneth VanAllman, her daughter Catherine Steuding and her husband Michael, and her daughter Jenny Carroll; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; one sister Margret Jennings, 1 niece, and 2 nephews. She was preceded by her great grandson Isaiah; one brother Paul McCullouch, one niece Connie Plowman, and a brother in law Jack Jennings.
Janet retired as an operator from Verizon, formerly Bell Telephone after 30 years of service. She was a homemaker as well, and was a graduate of Altoona High School, and the Altoona Bible Institute. She was an active member of Altoona First Southern Baptist Church, was a former member of the Altoona YWCA, and enjoyed spending time with her family, loved animals, and enjoyed camping with her family.
A memorial service will be held for Janet at 12:30 PM on Sunday, February 24, 2019, after the 10:30 AM worship service which she would eagerly invite you to attend before her memorial service, at Altoona First Southern Baptist Church, 903 North 4th Street, Altoona, PA, with Pastor George Sanders, officiating.
