Dorothy Marie Korman, 86, Altoona, passed away Sunday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Hollentown, Cambria County, daughter fo the late Rev. Gilbert and Sarah (Glass) Hollen. She married James Korman March 19, 1960 at Hollentown Assembly of God.
Surviving is her husband James; her two children—Vonda K. Korman and David J. Korman (Amy); 3 grandchildren: Rachel Korman, Erin Korman, and Ryan Korman; 4 brothers: Rev. Edwin Hollen, Ellsworth Hollen, Jerry Hollen, and Paul Hollen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters: Madeline Hollen, Marian Adams, Charlotte Kruis, Alma Gray, and Elsie Hays.
Dorothy retired from Jubilee Bakery as a Baker after many years, and then was a homemaker. She was a 1951 graduate of Reade Township High School, and went on to attend Eastern Bible Institute. She was a lifelong member of Pleasant Valley Assembly of God (now Trans4mation Church), and served as a senior companion with Blair senior services in her later years. She was an Avon representative and enjoyed baking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., and from 10 AM until the 12 Noon funeral service Thursday, March 7, at Transformation Church. Interment at Blair Memorial Park.
