Marilyn J. French

Marilyn J. French, 74, of Altoona, passed away Thursday night at her home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late George H. and Elma G. (Gillilland) Ross. She married Robert F. French July 5, 1975, in Altoona. He preceded her in death April 4, 1992.

Surviving are her children: Timothy S. Ross, Karen Quarry (James), Kevin Filer (Bobbie); her sister Shirley Nearhoof (Donald); as well as numerous nieces and one nephew.

Marilyn was a graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. She worked at Glidden Paints as an accountant for many years. She was an active member of Riggles Gap Bible Church, where she taught Sunday School and played piano for 50 years. She enjoyed her family and her church very much through the years.

Marilyn’s family wish to offer a special thank you to Edie, Ginger, and Melanie for their exemplary care, and to Christy at Hospice, along with Pastor Cathy.

Friends will be received from 10 AM until the 11 AM memorial service Friday, April 12, 2019, at Riggles Gap Bible Church, Rev. William Ice, officiating.
